Near to Dalyan is Iztuzu Beach, which is famed for the loggerhead turtles who breed there. Perched above the river in town are Dalyan’s rock tombs, that are carved into the side of the cliff and date back to around 400BC.
On the southern side of Turkey are Antalya, Kemer, Belek and Side, all of which are within easy reach of Antalya airport. Antalya is an ancient city, home to one of the best beaches on the Turquoise coast as well as a fascinating old quarter which offers some traditional Turkish, bazaar-style shopping. Side is great place for sampling Turkish street food, as well as seeing plenty of ancient ruins and remains, including a Greek temple and a sizeable amphitheatre.
